Abstract Scottish Artist
About Me
Scotland. My home. The place I was raised , amid a strong community of people and a stunning environment. From a TV box to travel guides to even my parents' mail, everything has been my canvas for as long as I remember.
My Journey so far
As I entered High School, my pursuit of art began to flourish. It is true what they say about a great teacher, they can influence and inspire your life forever. So, a shout out to you Mrs M. for always knowing that no matter the obstacle, art was my true calling. I became infatuated with expressive mark making , along with the smoothness of watercolour, I soon realised it was what I was born to do.
But it wasn’t without its challenges. However, I learned that is what art is about. It’s a constant struggle between acceptance and rejection. You simply must believe it's special. Fast forward to now, I hold a Bachelors of Honours in contemporary art.
Inspiration
At 18, I embarked on a journey to Kenya, where I spent five weeks in a remote Maasai Village, a transformative experience. It immersed me in a world of warmth, joy, pride, and a vibrant tapestry of colours. I became captivated by the rich array of patterns and hues, as well as a close-knit community that celebrated through song and dance. It opened my eyes to art in every facet of existence. Today, travelling is still an infinite source of my inspiration.
My aspiration is for each viewer to immerse themselves in the rhythm of the paint, allowing their minds to wander freely. I hope my work grants them the freedom to momentarily disconnect from society. Ultimately, creating an experience of profound sense of liberation when engrossed in my artwork.
